Mission

the clps: When I was young I worked a cherry orchard on a hillside in Eastern Washington. One year there were two migrant workers who shared the name Cesario Larios - as well as an identical social security number. As you can imagine, they both purchased their identities from the same person. The farmer arbitrarily chose one as the real Cesario Larios and the other as the false Cesario Larios and he made that one pack up and leave without work. I never met either of the men (I only heard of this from the farmer's son.) Yet the injustice struck me deeply, as did the beauty of the name. I knew that someday I would use the name as a character in a story. Over time I became a strange enough character to wear the name upon my artwork and now I would like to have enough character to live up to such a name. cesario larios could be anyone in the world, and they have the right to live well, to work, to eat, to learn, to travel, to love. I dedicate my artwork to these rights.
